This original abstract oil painting, Abstract figures in landscape oil painting#29 is a striking two-canvas diptych created by contemporary abstract artist Laurie Rubell in Glen Allen, Virginia.
In addition,Each canvas measures 38” x 66” x 1.5”, designed to be displayed together as a unified composition,
but they can also be hung separately for a dynamic spatial effect.
As part of my artistic process, I work directly across both hand-stretched canvases to create one vivid and dynamic modern artwork.
In fact I do not use pre-sketched designs as each canvas is hand-stretched over a wooden frame in my studio,
and the painting evolves through many layers of color, shape, and brushwork.
Also this oil painting began with washes of deep blue oil paint applied to blank canvases
I turned the right-hand panel to let the color drip naturally,
which created the foundation for what would become an expressive and richly layered composition.
Over four months, I used more than 100 oil paint tubes and 50 different brush types to bring this abstract figures in landscape to life.
Therefore the result is a textured, deeply saturated work featuring abstract figures, dripping color, and bold, expressive strokes—
Thus an immersive exploration of line, space, and movement.
And no reproductions or limited editions made, this is a one-of-a-kind original oil painting.
