Laurie Rubell is a Contemporary American Artist, born and raised in New York.She attended the University of Hartford(Hartford Art School) and was highly influenced by Artist/Instruction Jack Goldstein who is known for his Paintings and Conceptual work.

She earned her B.F.A. At the School of Visual Arts ,N.Y.C in a time of Punk Rock,Experimental Art with Artistic influences Laurie Anderson,Patti Smith Painter Mark Rothko And Barnett Newman Both known for their large scale paintings.

Her goals as an artist have always seemed simple:Keep pushing the boundaries of your work,keep pushing your creativity ..Don’t settle for good..The goal is to make unique works of art.

Her medium is oil paint on canvas.

In pushing the boundaries of my work She started using 2 Canvas paintings(And Sometimes more) to create unique works of art.Using 2 separate Canvases adds physical boundaries,Physical edges as opposed to edges created by
color and line.

She currently reside in Richmond Virginia.
